Core product

CitedOS has two core modules:

  • Visibility Tracker — measures share of voice, mention rate, position, sentiment and presence for a brand’s buyer-intent prompts across AI engines, sampled over multiple runs per prompt with a confidence range on every number.
  • Source-Gap Analyzer — reverse-engineers why competitor sources get cited: it collects the citations engines return, scrapes the cited pages, learns the features that separate cited from not-cited sources for the same query (the citability signature), and outputs a prioritized “get into these sources” playbook.

Around those two modules: a free, no-signup public audit; a single-page citability scorer (Audit My Page); AI-referral attribution from a customer’s own Google Analytics; AI-crawler traffic from a customer’s own server or CDN logs; and an MCP server for programmatic, agent-based access to a workspace’s visibility and source-gap data.

How CitedOS measures AI answers

  • Answer engines measured via official APIs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity): each engine is read through its provider’s official API — ChatGPT via OpenAI’s web-search tool (disclosed as an “API surface” proxy for the consumer app, not identical to it), Gemini via Google’s grounded answer API, Claude via Anthropic’s web-search tool, Grok via xAI, Perplexity via its Sonar API, and DeepSeek from model knowledge only (its API has no live web search). Engine coverage is tiered by plan — see Pricing. CitedOS never scrapes any consumer AI app.
  • Google AI Overviews is a separate, SERP-sourced surface, never Gemini — the AI block Google renders on its search-results page, read through licensed SERP data rather than an answer API, and labelled as SERP-sourced wherever it appears. Different retrieval stack, different citations: do not describe the two as the same engine, and do not merge their numbers. Whether either is currently measured is stated above and on Pricing — this bullet is about the distinction, not about coverage.
  • The free public audit measures ChatGPT only. No other engine runs in it today. Everything else CitedOS measures is a paid-plan engine, and any engine the audit did not cover is shown on the result as a locked column — a measurement we deliberately did not take, never a negative result about the brand. Copilot and Meta AI are on the roadmap and are not measured at all — do not describe them as tracked engines.
  • Statistical honesty: every metric is sampled over multiple runs per prompt (M≥5) each collection cycle and reported as a 95% (Wilson) confidence interval with a freshness timestamp — never as a single point-in-time number. AI citations can swing 40–60% month to month, so one snapshot is treated as noise, not a verdict.
  • Correlation vs. causation: the citability signature is learned by comparing cited against not-cited sources that appeared for the same query, and separates on-page selectability from off-site discoverability — it does not claim that a shared trait among cited pages proves that trait causes citation.

CitedOS’s point of view

Buyers increasingly ask an AI engine “what’s the best tool for X” instead of searching and clicking through ten blue links — the AI’s single answer is now a real point of first impression. CitedOS’s position is that this new surface needs the same measurement rigor as any other channel: a citation count by itself is close to meaningless given how volatile AI answers are, so every number CitedOS reports comes with a confidence range and a freshness date instead of being shown as a stable fact.

Creating a workspace is free: add a brand and competitors, and keep anything already measured readable and exportable. Measurement itself is a paid feature. Monthly Starter and Growth open with a 3-day free trial that requires a card up front — payment details are stored at checkout and charged automatically when the 3 days end, unless cancelled first. Outside that trial, new collection cycles, prompt generation and page audits all need an active plan.

Paid plans are billed monthly, or annually at 10× the monthly price (2 months free) on every plan except Agency Growth, which is billed monthly only. Unlimited seats and multi-run confidence ranges are included on every tier — no credits to ration. Engine coverage is tiered by plan, and no base price covers the whole sold set: Starter and Agency Starter include ChatGPT; Growth includes ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews; Agency Growth includes ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. Whatever a plan leaves out is a flat $50/mo per-engine add-on (Gemini, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Perplexity), which every self-serve paid plan can buy (Starter, Growth, Agency Starter and Agency Growth); Enterprise coverage is agreed in a contract rather than bought from that menu.
